rootless | (no subject)

It is not something that is often publicized. But...

[ turning Tsuykusa's hand over, and squeezing gently over his fingers. ]

It is what enables us to use magic in this world. Those that are able to be marked by a lunaglyph and, consequently, utilize it, are considered blessed. Those that cannot are unblessed.

... Sounds unnecessarily complicated.

[Curls his fingers a little, trying to catch at Sigmund's hand.]

[ allowing him, lacing their fingers together with a small smile. ]

Sometimes it is necessary. But it comes with a cost, as do most things.

[ pulling him... closer?? if he can. and then resting his chin on Tsuyukusa's head, like he's trying to comfort himself or Tsuyu. ]

Should one ever lose control, or be overwhelmed by the power, then they will start to transform into a creature we call Vermiform. When it progresses past the point of no return... then there is only one thing we can do.

[He shifts closer easily, then nods shallowly so as not to dislodge Sigmund.]

There's always something like that. In almost every world.

[ yes cuddling the tree :X ]

I suppose it never gets any easier?

[Sounds tired.]

I've had to be put down a few times, myself. Coming back, though, to find the person who saved you running herself through, or handing you the knife so you can do it...

turns his head a little, pressing lips to Tsuyukusa's forehead. ]

I'm sorry.

[...Squeezes his hand.]

[ he'll stay quiet a bit longer, and then pull away. not dropping his hand, but looking around quietly, and stroking his thumb over the back of Tsuyu's hand. ]

Would you mind if we stayed here for the night?

Not at all.

Thank you.

[ squeezing his hand again, and then releasing him, putting a hand on his shoulder before leading the way to a small inn of some sort. it's home-run and terribly quaint, and the owner apologizes over and over and scurries to give them the best room which is really just. big. but nothing too extraordinary about it, really.

and then she's leaving and they're alone and Sigmund's sitting on the single (small) bed looking at him. ]

[Tsuyu seems pretty pretty charmed by the place, to be honest, looking out their little window and then sitting on the sill to take the room in in its entirety.

So it takes him a moment to notice Sigmund's stare, but he tips his head curiously when their eyes eventually meet.]

I neglected to ask before, but...

[ studying him, more curious than anything ]

Do you sleep?

I can. It's a choice.

I see.

[ not... moving though. just still looking at him. ]

Stands, and goes to him.]

[ watching.... ]

[Kisses]

[ his lips part a little in surprise but

reaching out, taking Tsuyu by the hips and gently pulling him forward ]

[He's almost moving closer before Sigmund has to pull, lifting a knee to the edge of the bed, hands resting just above Sigmund's elbows.

The kiss is brief, but Sigmund might feel the slightest press of sharp, sharp teeth against his lower lip before Tsuyu breaks it, pressing their foreheads together instead.]

[ my treething has bite

running his fingers over his own lips when Tsu pulls away, like he's checking for blood. he's torn between looking amused and surprised ]

Are you all right?

[There's no blood, and when he smiles his teeth are flat and human.]

Yeah, just forgot something.

[ sliding his hands up, cupping Tsuyukusa's face and brushing his thumb over his cheeks. ]

Sometimes I feel as though you are better suited to being a fox than a tree spirit.

[His eyes go half-lidded, and he leans openly into the touch.]

Well I did have a fox as a guardian for a century or so.

But go ahead. Tell me why.

Perhaps they rubbed off on you.

[ sliding one of his hands around to cup his neck, massaging gently. ]
